Duck time again

June 27, 2008 at 11:56 am (Blogroll)

It’s Friday which means it’s swimming lessons for JD & K. JD will be under the water pretending to be a duck with his legs in the air and K will be pretending to be a rock star [somehow] while doing her strokes. What a normal bunch of kids we have.

They had mufti day at school today and K chose rock star Hanna Montana aka Mylie Cyris – the pics show it all. JD hadn’t thought of anything so I decided on Robbie Williams from his hit Let Me Entertain You, perfect for JD.

Horse riding has been non-existant over the past week due to rain always seeming to come down on the day – K was in tears Sun morning as her planned morning with the horses had to be cancelled as pretty strong wind & rain came down early and they don’t do the normal in that weather. Yesterday also cancelled and moved hopefully to Sunday – the forecast looks good so holding thumbs.

JD won the trophy again last Sat at soccer – for goalkeeping. Showed his team mate how to play in goals, where to stand etc. If that’s where he is happy to play, then that’s where he’ll be encouraged to play. Most of the parents just encourage them playing and hope they have fun. There were a few at the start that would just stand and cry most of the game – better now.

Hopefully the pleurisy has had it’s time and although still feeling a little niggle, it seems to have passed. I’ll give it another 2 weeks to be sure and then head back into training. Not that anything is happening at the club anyway – still on contact via email to a few and we’ll all be back in a month or so.

Kim – well-cleaning, shopping, kids, running around, crosswords on google, CSI. Had a hip injury that didn’t settle after some walking/jogging and now back at x-rays and appears opposite side might also be inflamed to compensate for right side – back to physio today, so we’ll see.

It’s almost 12pm and no call from the school to collect JD – lets hope he has a full day with no mud slips [we know it was a slide!].

They both excelling at school and K gets an award at the end of term assembly next week – not sure exactly what for but teacher said we must be there – she’s going to be so stoked.

Mexican restaurant for dinner tonight – yup, finally going back to Orewa’s favourite. Wonder what Kim’s going to order to drink….
