Und here it is

“Holy shit” – now who in the world would utter these words still half asleep and trying to wake up? Our little angel JD. The other morning, I had just got out of bed, Kim was sitting up and JD [who always seems to find his way back into our bed at some part of the morning] turns over and mutters “holy shit”! Why, no idea as went straight back to sleep.

K – loving jump jam, went horse riding last week but “grounded” for bad behaviour over the weekend so nothing this week. From Sept the trainer is going to have day classes on a Sat or Sun which K is thrilled about. Swimming great – eating great – dancing and being a madam priceless.

JD – oh JD….character. Lets see, swimming fools around, school nobody to play with while the class learning, soccer difficult in the house but not impossible, Playstation king at whoever will let him play, whether they want to play or not, soccer too early on a Sat after a heavy week, barks at the cat, can google any car game on the planet, hair growing out of control but not long enough, thinking of leaving school to join me in business – and that was last week!

Kim’s pretty chilled. Had to spend the whole day Wed without me in the house. I had a breakfast at 7am and off to a meeting [did have coffee with her between b/fast & meeting] and got back 7:30pm. She said first hour was bliss, second quiet and from then boring. Didn’t take me long to irritate her again which was fun.

I think my next domain I register should be called www.nextweek.co.nz[which is available, just checked] Everything happens next week – feel like Annie “tomorrow”>> Exciting movement in the venture but waiting on the legal eagles to complete documents & we don’t move without it.

Summer is around the corner and even went out in a t-shirt the other morning, haven’t put the gloves on for 2/3 weeks. Hopefully a sunny weekend ahead, golf tomorrow and hopefully some fishing in the next week or so. Sea is looking stunning and ready for a new season. Friends just got back from the ski fields by Christchurch and picture perfect. Others heading out his weekend to south end of the North Island [about 45 min from Taupo if you want to check]

See, just got in another update before the end of Aug, phew.

Wedding bells

August 19, 2008 at 9:31 pm (Blogroll)

Listening to music and both our wedding march and first dance played – good memories.

We’ve had a nice couple of days just being lazy and some socialising in the street. Dylans 16th birthday so had a little get together on Sat night but landed up in front of the tv watching the Olympics. Feel like we know the Kiwi competitors, so very proud when they do well, and even when they just to their best.

Sunday went for a slow run into Shakespear – still only 2 of us but the club gets going again mid Sept. We had a committee meeting at Sparx on Friday morning. Imagine me surrounded [again] by 5 women. Lets see, 1x Sri Lanka, 1xPommie, 1xSA, 1xKiwi, 1xIndonesian/Dutch = you can imagine. Just to bring me into the conversation I brought up my sore nipples from the previous days run in the rain & the shaved legs. If anyone went for a quiet cup of coffee at 11am, I felt sorry for them because the girls were on form.

I have only 11 weeks left for the Auckland Marathon so did a training programme based on my 2000 Comrades training. Looking back, I underestimated the dedication and training I put into it. I clocked 1200km’s in the six months of training. If I am going to get back to peak fitness, there is going to be no short cut and when we talk about the full Ironman, that’s a full 11 months training. Nothing like a challenge.

K was upset Sunday as she was due to work with the horses for the afternoon but was cancelled. She was in tears on and off. JD didn’t give a second thought to missing soccer Sat morning – been rained out quite a bit for the little ones. Older kids still play but hard for the little ones on the wet grass.

Trained on the treadmill yesterday and this morning – didn’t feel like the cold & rain again. Trained Kim on the weight station this morning – the best training for toning. Hardly any weights but the actions etc really burn the muscles into action. We were supposed to go swimming but she said it was too cold – girl.

Business – waiting for lawyers and auditors – trying to be patient.

I’ve really been letting the team down by not keeping this updated – apologies all – I’ll try to get this updated more regularly.

So what’s been happening, well – not much I don’t think.

JD is a hit with the teachers. If he doesn’t want to do something, he’s stands his ground. He even got “detention” the other day – he’s 5!!! You could call it detention because the teacher kept him in when break started to finish his work. He was defiant for 45min because he wanted to do computer work and the class was doing writing – so, for 45 min he sat defiant. When break time came, she held him back and sat with him, explained the situation and he sat with her and finished the work in 5 minutes – done – I’m outta here. When the went on a school tip to the Star Dome [he's been before], the mother in charge of the group that included JD gave up trying to “control” him and the teacher took over. He was explaining the planets to everyone etc – he’s very knowledgeable about the stars / planets and dinosaurs. He’s not naughty but just confident and doesn’t conform to the normal 5 year old barriers - I’m going places so don’t get in my way!

K is one confident little girl and starting to notice the boys a little too much. Starting on the boyfriend questions and when people kiss on tv, “are they having s.e.x.?” She is still loving her horse riding, doing well at swimming and has started a dance class. We were at Lee & Carmen when Lee’s sister was visiting – she’s a hip-hop style dance teacher and all the kids were putting on shows etc – she was impressed with K and asked her to come to a class. K was bored the first time as she “had to watch” which annoys her as “she knows” what to do – class is at the end of leaning a dance over the past few months and K thinks she can step in and know everything. Well, at class # 2 the following week, she did. The teacher was blown away as some of the kids were still battling after 2/3 months. K – ye’ it was ok but a little boring>> We tried to tell her how great she did and she just says’ “I know”…

Swimming on Fridays is always interesting. K is at 4pm and JD at 4:30 so last week I swam with JD in the big pool and then when he went off, swam with K – nice fun. JD loves the big pool because he can go really deep – loves it underwater. Have to throw him in the air so he can get right to the bottom.

Other than the normal, not much on the “play” side that’s exciting. No chance of getting out for a fish – between the weather and not knowing anyone with a boat, it’s been quiet. Training is going ok but hard coming off the illness / 5 weeks off and trying to get back to where I was. There is a 21km mid Sept which I may do, depending on the next 2 weeks training.

That’s it – hopefully be back soon>>
